Engr. Akin Olaniyan practice engineering and maritime technology industries for over 35 years. He is a fellow of several professional societies and associations including the Nigerian Society of Engineers, which selected him as the pioneer chairman of the marine engineering and naval architecture division of the society. He is a fellow of the Port Facility Association of Nigeria, a member, of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, a fellow and current president of the Centre for Marine Surveyors, Nigeria, and a companion of the Nau tical Institute to name a few.
Relevant Experience:
As an accomplished engineering consultant and marine surveyor, he administers an African Regional office of the International Naval Surveys Bureau, a worldwide classification society and network of maritime consultants with recognition of all Flag Administrations -www.insb-nigeria.net or www.insb.gr. He has maintained this status for over 20 years. In 2007, he was appointed Deputy Commissioner for Maritime Affairs under the union of Comoros Flag in Nigeria in an acting capacity. He brings to bear years of top-flight experience and knowledge in maritime administration and management in Africa and North America.
